Potential Major Exit Looms for Chelsea Ahead of Aston Villa Showdown
Chelsea Coach Anthony Barry could leave Stamford Bridge for Bayern Munich following Thomas Tuchel's appointment, according to The Telegraph. The Blues face a challenge to keep hold of the highly-rated 36-year-old, with Tuchel said to rate him extremely highly. Zsolt Low and Arno Michels are also expected to join Tuchel's team in Germany, having left Chelsea at the same time as the former Borussia Dortmund boss. It remains unclear whether Chelsea will allow Barry to leave, or whether he would be interested in joining Tuchel at Bayern.
In addition to his Chelsea duties, Barry has a part-time coaching role with the Portugal national side. He was first hired by former head coach Frank Lampard and subsequently retained by current manager Graham Potter. Potter will want to avoid any distractions ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa next weekend. The match will take place at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, April 1, with kick-off at 5:30 pm and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Chelsea is unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, with victories over Leeds United, Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund. Villa is also undefeated in their last four matches, having beaten Everton, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth.
