Liverpool's pursuit of Jude Bellingham puts Victor Osimhen transfer in doubt, says Don Hutchison
Don Hutchison, a former Liverpool midfielder, has recently revealed that the club is prioritizing the capture of Borussia Dortmund's midfielder, Jude Bellingham, over Napoli's Victor Osimhen. Hutchison has suggested that Bellingham is the player that Liverpool is willing to sign this summer and give the legendary Steven Gerrard's armband and the No.8 shirt.
Jude Bellingham has been linked with a move out of Borussia Dortmund, with several high-profile clubs interested in the 19-year-old. Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool have all reportedly made offers for the England international. The transfer fee for Bellingham could reach up to 150 million euros, the same amount that Napoli is demanding for Osimhen.
Despite Osimhen's emergence as one of the hottest strikers in the world this season, netting 25 times in 29 all-competition appearances, Hutchison does not think that Liverpool can sell Steven Gerrard's number 8 and give it to Osimhen. He believes that Liverpool is putting all their eggs in the Bellingham basket, prioritizing him over Osimhen.
It remains to be seen which player Liverpool will ultimately sign, but the club seems to be focusing on securing a deal with Bellingham. The young midfielder has already established himself as a top talent and would be a valuable addition to any team.
